Mona was born and raised here in Winnipeg. Her family worked hard to move to Canada from Iran to pursue their academic ambitions. She graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology – Athletic Therapy and registered with the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association (CATA).
Mona chose this field as she has a passion for living an active lifestyle. Growing up, she was actively involved in soccer, track and field, the gym, hot yoga, and rollerblading. As an athletic therapist she places emphasis on prevention because many individuals wait until they have a problem to seek therapy. Being active has countless health benefits in your daily life, and Mona enjoys sharing her knowledge on how to live a healthier lifestyle and developing sustainable and enjoyable habits.
Mona specializes in injury assessment, prevention, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. The ultimate goals of her sessions are to help patients return to their usual activity, whether that means running a marathon or going for a walk in the morning to the mailbox.
Some common injuries she encounters and treats include, tendinitis, tendinosis, tenosynovitis, sacroiliac dysfunction, TMJ dysfunction, low back pain, ligament sprains, muscle strains, and various post-surgical related injuries.
Outside work she enjoys spending time with her two beautiful nieces, traveling, rollerblading, surfing and generally, staying active by any means.
